The Delray Beach Chorale, in its 33rd season now under the artistic direction of Patricia P. Fleitas, DMA, announces openings for all voice parts (soprano, alto, tenor, bass) for the upcoming 2014 – 2015 season. Audition dates are August 12, 21, and 22 at the First Presbyterian Church, 33 Gleason Street, Delray Beach, FL 33483.

• Thursday, August 21, 2014       5:30 – 9:30 pm
• Friday, August 22, 2014            3:00 – 6:30 pm

Audition criteria:
I. Two Options for Musical Presentation
a) Sing “America the Beautiful” (a cappella) in two different keys
b) Perform a couple of pieces representative of western art music (“classical”).
Submission of previously recorded solo performances as part of the audition is not accepted.
* A pianist will be on site to assist.

2. Other components include:
a) A short sight reading exercise will be provided.  Ability to sight read is not a determining factor for admission but is highly welcomed.
b) Pitch and rhythmic retention evaluation.
c) Evaluation of vocal range.
