January’s Jace Vek Experience at Delray’s Arts Garage will feature a fusion:  Two artists from completely different backgrounds will combine their talents to explore, create, and perform in a unique concert – inviting their audience to join them in their discovery of bold new sounds.

Composer and concert pianist Jace Vek has built a critically acclaimed career on combining different genres to create unique compositions; electric guitarist Jimi Cokinos has been called original and innovative:

“This is a live music event I have created exclusively for Arts Garage. On January 21st you will see and hear two completely different worlds of music collide on that stage,” says Vek.
Vekʼs original music is a piano driven world of sound, backed by a digital symphony orchestra. The original music composed and produced by Jace is a bold mixture of multiple styles – most notably:  neo-classical, new-age, electronic, symphonic rock, trance, and dubstep.

Jimi Cokinos is an electric guitarist with an eclectic talent. His music ranges through many different styles including, sweeping guitar leads, punk, rock, jazz, heavy metal, hardcore, thrash, and more. Jimi has had an extensive career in production and has worked in numerous capacities with many great artists including Fuel, Destinyʼs Child, Creed, Janet Jackson, James Taylor, Kylie Monogue and many others. Jimi has also worked with various artists on television shows such as The Ellen Degeneres Show, American Idol, Good Morning America, and Conan O’Brien.

In addition to his new music, Jace Vek will perform a set of his own arrangements of the music of Journey, Metallica, Smashing Pumpkins, Pink Floyd and others.

“I have taken these well known pieces from these great bands, and turned them inside out for the piano. Itʼs fun to explore these melodies,” says Vek. “There are such beautiful melodies going on in these pieces, and the naked piano exposes them.”

Arts Garage is a multi-disciplinary cultural hub for musicians, performers, film presenters and visual artists. The mission of the Arts Garage is to collaborate with emerging artists and cultural innovators to facilitate an exchange of art and ideas and to present cutting-edge, interdisciplinary performances and exhibitions.
