Please note:  Due to the untimely and unexpected closing of Bob Carter’s Actor’s Workshop and Repertory Theatre in West Palm Beach, Entr’Acte Theatrix’ production of Richard O’Brien’s The Rocky Horror Show will be presented at the Cast Theatre. The Cast Theatre is located 7429 S. Military Trail, Lake Worth, FL (33463)
Entr’Acte originally chose the Actors Rep space to present their work as Carter’s goal to provide a good meld of straight and musical theatre under the same roof is in keeping with Entr’Acte’s own mission to produce edgy, non-confirming material through musical theatre.

LAKE WORTH, FL: It’s never too early to think about Halloween, and who better to celebrate the fast-approaching holiday with than the denizens of Dr. Frank N. Furter’s home-sweet-castle in Richard O’Brien’s beloved cult classic, The Rocky Horror Show.   Entr’Acte Theatrix is inviting audiences to come do the Time Warp again… when they present ‘Rocky’ at The Cast Theatre in Lake Worth from October 10th through October 26th.

The Rocky Horror Show is an outrageous assemblage of – and humorous tribute to – the most stereotypical science fiction and horror movies, Marvel comics, Frankie Avalon/Annette Funicello outings, and rock ‘n’ roll of every vintage. The play (upon which the classic film The Rocky Horror Picture Show is based) has grown from an experimental production originally produced in a small London theatre in June 1973, to a cult phenomenon with fans world-wide.  The musical tells the story of a newly engaged couple who, when caught in a storm, find refuge in the home of a decidedly unusual scientist who is madly working towards unveiling his latest and greatest creation.

Rocky is also the quintessential audience participation show, and Entr’Acte will have what have come to be known as ‘survival kits’ available for purchase for those who want them.

This is the fifth time Entr’Acte Theatrix will present The Rocky Horror Show.  Their 2012, 2014, 2017, and 2019 productions were so successful that when an encore presentation was suggested, it was, as Entr’Acte’s founder and producer Vicki Halmos says, “A ‘no brainer’!  Our audiences love the show,” she continues, “and so does our cast.  You can see it during rehearsals.  Their enthusiasm is boundless, and they are so excited to be able to bring all these characters to life – figuratively and literally!” she says with a smile.

Carlo Rufino Sabusap, who has appeared in each of the company’s Rockys, as well as numerous other Entr’Acte productions, will direct the production.

“In an age and political climate where we should be progressing as a society and species, we are instead given constant reminders that bigotry is living strong and that people who are different from the status quo are considered less than people, and in some cases, stripped of their rights,” he says. “Rocky Horror celebrates the idea of the outsider. We not only want the audience to have fun, but they should also realize that the enjoyment they are experiencing is because a group of wildly different people from different backgrounds and life experiences worked together to make something great. This is our 5th time mounting this show, and I believe it is our value of working TOGETHER, and including our differences, that we are making something Great Again.”

Cast in Entr’Acte’s Rocky Horror Show are Elijah Pestana as Brad Majors, Rose Foster as Janet Weiss, Trevohnn Garner as Frank N. Furter, Carly Graefe as Magenta, Amalia Phend as Columbia, Greg Halmos as Riff Raff, Ace Gilliam as Rocky, Matthew Mayer as Eddie, Cherry Rivera as the Usherette, David Taylor as Dr. Scott, and Jason Fisher as The Criminologist. Also in the cast are Christia Santi, Sarah Romeo, Sarah Kenny, and Adler Monpremier.

Along with director Sabusap, the show’s production crew includes co-Producer Greg Halmos, Musical Director Aaliyah Amoin, Choreographer Sarah Kenny. Lighting and Tech is by Elizabeth Southwell, and sound is by Atlas Saavedra.

The Rocky Horror Show will run for 12 performances only, from October 10 – 26 at The Cast Theatre. The theatre is located at 7429 S. Military Trail, Lake Worth, FL (33463). Tickets are on sale now, and are available online at https://linktr.ee/entractetheatrix.
Ticket prices range from $50 for VIP/Premium Seating, $35 for Standard Seating,  and $25 for Value Seating (at an odd angle, or partially obstructed view).

WEST PALM BEACH, FL: Entr’acte Theatrix’ first production of 2025 will be Avenue Q, the ‘triple crown’ (Best Musical, Best Score, and Best Book) Tony Award-winning musical that is ‘part flesh, part felt and packed with heart’.  The production will run from March 6 – 16 in the Bhetty Waldron Theatre at Actor’s Rep in West Palm Beach.

A truly unique show that ran for over 6 years on Broadway, Avenue Q (the musical that bested Wicked at the 2004 Tonys) focuses on recent college graduate, Princeton, who moves into a shabby New York apartment all the way out on Avenue Q.  He soon discovers that although the residents seem nice, it’s clear this is not your ordinary neighborhood. Together, Princeton and his new-found friends struggle to find jobs, dates, and their ever-elusive purpose in life.  The show addresses adult issues with humor, empathy, monsters, and music.

Director Carlo Sabusap (who will also take on the role of Trekkie Monster in the production) has cast Esqui as Princeton and Rod, Elizabeth Robinson as Kate Monster, Elijah Pestana as Nicky, Greg Halmos as Brian, Rose Foster as Christmas Eve, Sarah Romeo as Gary Coleman, Ariel Hodgetts as Lucy and Bad Idea Bear, and Sarah Kenny as Bad Idea Bear, Mrs. Thistletwat, and others.

Avenue Q’s Musical Director is Aaliyah Moin.  Elizabeth Southwell will serve as the production’s Technical Director and Lighting Designer, Jaycie Cohen is the Sound Engineer, and Jason Fisher doubles as the show’s Stage Manager and Assistant Director.

“We are yet again at one of those times in our history when we need some levity in the world,” Sabusap says. “The current economic and political climate, for some, is rough. I think we need to bring some light into our lives, and Avenue Q is definitely one of the best ways to remind ourselves that even when the times get tough, we must remember to laugh.

“I feel like Avenue Q is one of those shows that reaches deep down inside of everyone, the comedy comes from us finding the ridiculous in the mundane, an experience that all of us go through as we grow up,” he continues. “The puppets give us the comfort food of childlike wonder while the subject matter pulls us into those relatable situations that we as adults have experienced. Although the cast is primarily young adults, they know and can express the experiences presented in the show. They’re all talented, hard-working, and very funny. Avenue Q comes with the unique challenge that most other musical theater shows don’t have, in that when you’re on stage with the puppet, you’re acting twice. You’re not only expressing and emoting your own physical body, but also this seemingly inanimate object which they can magically bring to life. I’m sure that audiences will find this one to be side-hurtingly funny. Whether you’re looking for your purpose in life, a reason to get out of your house, in search of crude humor, Avenue Q is definitely the best bet!”

“This is our first production at Bob Carter’s Actor’s Workshop,” says Entr’Acte Theatrix founder and Executive Producer Vicki Halmos.  “The space is perfect for us – it’s small and intimate, with just the right number of seats.  (And there’s lots of parking available!) Avenue Q is one of our favorite shows,” she continues.  “It allows our actors the opportunity to stretch their skill sets – working with these puppets takes discipline and strength – mental and physical.  It’s funny, and clever, and yet it packs a number of important messages concerning personal relationships, discrimination against people who are different, and the truths about learning to be an adult.

Avenue Q will run from March 6 – 16 in the Bhetty Waldron Theatre at Actor’s Rep (1000 N Dixie Hwy, West Palm Beach, FL 33401).  Performances are on Thursdays and Fridays at 8 pm, Saturdays at 2 pm and 8 pm, and Sundays at 2 pm. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased online at www.PalmBeachTheater.org or by phone at 561-833-7529.

POMPANO BEACH, FL:  Based on the book by Ilene Beckerman, Nora and Delia Ephron’s award-winning ensemble piece about women, clothes, and memory, Love, Loss, and What I Wore will be the first production presented by The Pompano Players, the brand-new Pompano Beach Cultural Center resident theatre company. The play will run from October 11th through October 20th.

Love, Loss, and What I Wore won the 2010 Drama Desk Award for Unique Theatrical Experience as well as the 2010 Broadway.com Audience Award for Favorite New Off-Broadway Play.  It has been produced on six continents and in numerous countries.

“Love, Loss, and What I Wore is a story of women’s roles and the clothes chosen to represent the changes and challenges of every woman,” says the production’s director Jeremy Quinn. “It is, at heart, about being a woman and the bonds made between women through shared experiences. The show encapsulates these moments and uses them to explore what it means to be a mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, girlfriend, wife.

“What excites me most about directing this timely show with all women is the opportunity to shine a bright light on women’s stories through the lens of fashion,” he continues. “The show weaves together the fabric of female empowerment and equality by paying tribute to and uplifting the voices of women at a time when they need to be heard and shown gratitude for the sacrifices they make every single day.

“It’s an opportunity to honor my own mother and grandmother who made their own clothes and kept in line with current fashion trends every step of the way,” Quinn says. “They were wizards of the sewing machine who introduced me to the process of making garments from scratch. Believe it or not, knowledge and experience that I use to this very day. Need a hem? I got you covered!”

Quinn’s cast includes Christine Chavers as Gingy, Francine Birns, as Woman 2, Raven Adams as Woman 3, Rachel Ihasz as Woman 4, and Sarah Romeo as Woman 5.

Director Quinn will perform triple duty as the show’s Production Stage Manager and Sound Designer, and Amanda Lopez and Elizabeth Guerra will serve as Assistant Stage Managers.  Set Design is by Claudia Smith, Lighting Design is by Stevie Bleich, and the Production Manager is Christian Taylor.

WEST PALM BEACH, FL:  A deviously delicious Broadway horror comedy rock sci-fi musical, Little Shop of Horrors has devoured the hearts of theatre-goers for over 40 years. In fact, it is currently enjoying an extremely successful run Off Broadway.   Entr’Acte Theatrix will present this beloved cult classic, created by Howard Ashman and Alan Menken (Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, and Aladdin), from November 9th through November 19th at the William G. Skaff Center in West Palm Beach.

“Over 20 years ago, we produced this show,” says Entr’Acte Theatrix Founder and Producer Vicki Halmos.  “I was researching by phone possibilities for the puppets used to portray Audrey II, when the morning news was interrupted by the events of 9/11, which I watched live TV. I decided to proceed with that production, to keep some level of normalcy going in my life and that of the cast and crew. As our production proceeded, I saw many parallels between the events of 9/11 and the message of Little Shop. Now, 20 years later, with this new production, we have another evidence of an evil force with the intention of ‘coming to eat the world whole”, with the events of Israel’s current challenge with the horrendous forces of evil. But, beyond the ironic parallel between these productions of Little Shop, we are fiercely working towards an excellent production to present to our community and let them draw their own conclusions.  By the way, though, I highly doubt that the writers of Little Shop had this ironic analogy in mind when they wrote this entertaining piece of musical theater.”

Meek floral assistant Seymour Krelborn stumbles across a new breed of plant he names “Audrey II” – after his coworker crush. This R&B-singing carnivore promises unending fame and fortune to the down and out Krelborn as long as he keeps feeding it…blood. Over time, though, Seymour discovers Audrey II’s out of this world origins and intent towards global domination!

“I am very excited to be helming Little Shop of Horrors,” says the show’s Director, Carlo Sabusap.  “Little Shop is one of those great classic Broadway musicals that reaches out to all audiences in its comedy, its sincerity, and its music. Our production will have some unique elements that I am sure will give those who experience it something to talk about, while preserving the memorable moments masterfully created by writer Howard Ashman and composer Alan Menken. I am so proud of the magic this cast and crew is creating, and I hope that the audience will feel the same magic that I see in them.”

Sabusap’s Little Shop of Horrors cast includes Ryan Townsend as Seymour Krelborn, Aletta Kemp as Audrey, Murphy Hayes as Mr. Mushnik, Chase Stante as Audrey II, Greg Halmos as Orin Scrivell, Pamela Hankerson as Ronette, Sarah Romeo as Crystal, Jamie Wade as Chiffon, Nik Rosa as Puppeteer/Swing, Sebastian Rukes and Nicole Hernandez as Ensemble/Swings, and Kai as Ensemble.

The production’s Music Director is Roger Blankenship, and the Assistant Music Director is Ed Kolcz.  The show’s Music Captain is Ryan Townsend, Kai is the show’s Choreographer, Costumes are by Ashley Carlisle, and Sets and Sound are provided by Theatre of Collaborative Arts.  The Production Stage Manager is Elizabeth Southwell.
