Entr’Acte Theatrix has teamed with the Intertainment Network’s popular W4CY Internet Radio to bring 2012 The Voice finalist Michaela Paige to the Delray Beach Centre for the Arts’ Crest Theatre.  Paige will participate in a live remote broadcast leading up to Saturday evening June 22nd performance of Monty Python’s Spamalot.

MP BSPaige is currently in Los Angeles for The Voice finale, and will fly home especially for the Entr’Acte/Spamalot appearance.  The young singer, a Boca Raton native, was a popular contestant on last year’s show, and her coach, country mega-star Blake Shelton, predicted a great future for her on the evening of her eventual elimination:

“I love this little girl so much and it’s just the … this is her first stab at this thing, and she’s going to be a star.” Shelton said. “You’re going to see her many times. Her big mohawk is going to be walking across the stage at the Grammys and I can’t wait. I can’t wait. I’m so glad that I had this one small chapter in (your) book.”

As a special promotion, all followers of Michaela Paige on Twitter, Facebook, and other social media will be offered a discount code to use in order to purchase tickets to Entr’Acte Theatrix’ Monty Python’s Spamalot at half theMichaela-Paige-02 regular price.  In order to find the discount code, patrons should visit Paige’s Facebook page  or follow the singer on Twitter where she can be found at  @FLASinger1.  W4CY radio host Dean K. Piper – ‘The Pipeman’ – will be broadcasting the code on his program; it will also be available on W4CY’s Jason Fisher’s 5 minutes to Curtain page and internet radio show.  Once the code has been retrieved, patrons can use it to purchase their discounted tickets either in person, on the phone, or on line.  This special discount code may be used throughout the entire run of Monty Python’s Spamalot.

Monty Python’s Spamalot (‘lovingly ripped off from the 1975 film Monty Python and the Holy Grail’) is a deliriously funny spectacle that puts a hilariously unique spin on the legendary tale of King Arthur, his Knights of the Round Table, and their quest for the Holy Grail. The show features – among other things – lusty maidens, dancing divas, a flatulent Frenchman, and a killer rabbit.

Monty Python’s Spamalot will run for 12 performances only, from June 20th to 30th, at the Crest Theatre at the Delray Beach Center for the Arts at Old School Square.  The theatre is located at 51 North Swinton Avenue, Delray Beach, 33444.  Tickets are on sale now, and are available by calling 561-243-7922. Tickets are $20; $15 for groups of 15 or more with the 16th ticket free; and $10 for children under 12; and are on sale now. $10 Student Rush tickets will be available ½ hour before curtain only, with valid ID. Tickets can be purchased on line at: delraycenterforthearts.org  or by phone at: 561-243-7922, ext. 1.

The cast and crew of Entr’Acte Theatrix’ upcoming production of Monty Python’s Spamalot have come up with a novel way to promote their show. In true Pythonesque fashion, they have ventured out onto the streets of Delray Beach Grail---web…and beyond (wearing Spamalot tee-shirts), and have hidden away in various locations –   obvious and not so – several modern facsimiles of the objective of King Arthur’s quest –  yes… Grails!

Anyone who finds one of Arthur’s coveted cups will automatically win two tickets to the Spamalot performance of their choice. The production will run at the Delray Beach Center for the Arts/Crest Theatre from June 20th – 30th.

There are a number of these chalices to be chased – they could be anywhere.
In fact several steins have been stashed – pursuing patrons might find a beaker behind a bush; a vessel near a trestle; or a glass in the grass.

Patrons who are lucky enough to grab a goblet, should contact Entr’Acte Theatrix at: 561-366-9033 / hedzupproductions@yahoo.com to reserve their tickets.  Winners must bring their finds to the theatre on performance day.IMG_6345-for-web                           The cast of Spamalot preparing to hide Grails!

Entr’Acte Theatrix will present Monty Python’s Spamalot from June 20th through the 30th at the Crest Theatre at the Delray Center for the Arts.  The play is “lovingly ripped off” from the 1975 film Monty Python and the Holy Grail, with a book by Python Eric Idle, and a score by Idle and John Du Prez. Like the film, it’s a totally irreverent and typically Pythonesque parody of the Arthurian Legend:

The legendary King Arthur, accompanied by his faithful servant, Patsy, travels through his kingdom, collecting members for his Knights of the Round Table.  Some of his recruits include Sir Robin, a collector of plague victims, and Lance a ‘large, handsome, and incredibly violent man’, who agree to join him – Lance ‘for the fighting’, and Robin for ‘the singing and dancing’.  The Lady of the Lake (and her Laker Girls), Sir Bedevere, and Sir Dennis Galahad eventually join Arthur in his search for The Holy Grail. The show also features a bevy of beautiful girls (of course), not to mention ‘cows, killer rabbits, and French people’.  As The Sunday Times observed, Monty Python’s Spamalot ‘raises silliness to an art form’.

John_CostanzoEntr’Acte Theatrix has assembled a talented cast to populate the surreal world of Python.  The suitably kingly John Costanzo (left) will take on the role of Arthur; Sharyn Peoples will play The Lady of the Lake; and Carbonell nominee Mike Westrich (right) will don Mike W HeadshotSir Galahad’s armor. Other cast members include Darrick Penny as Sir Robin, and Mike James as Sir Bedevere.

“Spamalot is one of the most cleverly written comedies of Broadway’s recent history,” says the show’s director Kevin Black. “I have always wanted to direct Spamalot and I’m so happy to finally have the chance.” We have assembled a very talented cast,” he continues, “Including Mike Westrich and the amazing Sharyn Peoples as The Lady of the Lake. Every rehearsal is a barrel of laughs; we are all having so much fun. I have no doubt that fans of Monty Python, and even those who have never seen this iconic British humor, will have a blast at the show.”

When asked for a comment about the show, Spamalot’s musical director Roger Blankenship is equally enthusiastic:  “The music is fun to sing, and to hear – and this cast is definitely up to it!”
