September 26, 2018:

AVENTURA, FL: – GFour Productions has completed casting for Menopause The Musical’s limited run at the Aventura Arts and Cultural Center. The production will run from October 23rd through October 28th only.

Linda Boston will play ‘Professional Woman, South Florida native Ingrid Cole will take on the role of ‘Earth Mother’, Terri Dixon will play the ‘Iowa Housewife’, and Kathy St. George has been cast as the ‘Soap Star’.  Three of the four women have performed in the musical previously, however the Aventura run will be Terri Dixon’s first time in the production.

Although the Menopause The Musical debuted over seventeen years ago in Orlando, Florida, the show is as relevant today as it was in 2001.  Not only does it entertainingly deal with the issues all women inevitably face as they navigate ‘the change’ – hot flashes, body changes, and short term memory loss just to to name a few – it addresses the larger meaning of what it means to be a woman, and delivers an empowering message to women of all ages:   Take charge of your life, celebrate the now, and look to the future.

Chock full of clever wit and humor, great songs and exhilarating dance numbers, the laughter filled production consistently inspires its audiences – both men and women – to jump out of their seats and sing along to the catchy parodies of classic pop songs of the ‘60s, ‘70s and ‘80s.

Menopause The Musical® is recognized as the longest-running scripted production in Las Vegas and continues to entertain nightly at Harrah’s Las Vegas. The show recently celebrated its 5000th performance there.  The much-loved musical has entertained audiences across the country in more than 450 U.S. cities, nearly 300 international cities, and a total of 15 countries.

Menopause The Musical® will run from October 23 – October 28 at the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center.  Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased on line at http://menopausethemusical.com/ or   https://www.aventuracenter.org/ or by calling 877-311-7469.  Tickets are $46.50 – $66.50. Nominated for six Tony Awards, and winning 2, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee on an eclectic group of sixth graders, who arrive at a fictional spelling bee set in a geographically ambiguous Putnam Valley Middle School to vie for the spelling championship of a lifetime; the Bee is run by three equally quirky grown-ups. While candidly disclosing hilarious and touching stories from their home lives, the tweens spell their way through a series of (potentially made-up) words, hoping never to hear the soul-crushing, pout-inducing, life un-affirming “ding” of the bell that signals a spelling mistake. Six spellers enter – one speller leaves! At least the losers get a juice box!

That lovable family of creepy kooks is alive and well and living in their super-spooky mansion in Central Park. The Addams family, led by the elegantly gaunt and seemingly undead Morticia and her ever-devoted husband Gomez, is in turmoil. Their daughter Wednesday, now 18, finds herself falling in love—a sensation that is unsettling for both her and her family of endearing misfits. When the teen invites her new boyfriend, Lucas Beineke, over with his “normal” family to get better acquainted with the Addams household, comic chaos (including everything from mixed-up potions to a scorching tango) ensues.

The humor can be suggestive (sometimes even raunchy) as the ‘Old Jews’ make fun of themselves as well as followers of every other religion.

July 31, 2018:

AVENTURA, FL: – GFour Productions, winner of 44 Tony Awards and 54 Drama Desk Awards, proudly brings the international hit show Menopause The Musical® to the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center for a limited engagement beginning Tuesday, October 23 through Sunday, October 28.

Four women meet in a department store while shopping for black lace bras at a lingerie sale. After noticing unmistakable similarities to one another’s ‘situations’, the women compare comical (and eminently relatable) notes about their woeful hot flashes, mood swings, wrinkles, weight gain and much more. These women form a sisterhood and unique bond they share with the entire audience as they rejoice in celebrating that menopause is no longer “The Silent Passage.”

Inspired by a hot flash and a bottle of wine, Menopause The Musical® is a celebration of women who find themselves at any stage of “The Change.” The laughter-filled 90-minute production consistently gets audience members out of their seats and singing along to parodies from classic pop songs of the ‘60s, ‘70s and ‘80s.

Now celebrating 17 years of female empowerment – GFour’s first production of Menopause The Musical® was in South Florida in 2004 – Menopause The Musical® is a hilarious groundbreaking celebration of women who are on the brink of, in the middle of, or have survived “The Change.” The show has evolved as a “grassroots” movement for women who deal with life adjustments after 40 by embracing each other and the road ahead.

“We are very excited to bring Menopause The Musical® back to Florida – the place it all began!” says the one of the show’s producers, Kathi Glist.  Glist is a founding partner in GFour Productions. “Menopause The Musical® is very much thought of as a celebration of women,” she continues, “But we have consistently found that men love it just as much as the women do. We look forward to sharing the Menopause The Musical® experience with South Florida audiences again.”

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased on line at menopausethemusical.com or www.aventuracenter.org or by calling 877-311-7469.  Tickets are $46.50 – $66.50.  The Aventura Arts & Cultural Center is located at 3385 NE 188th Street, Aventura, Florida 33180.
