Invasion of Privacy is based on the lawsuit brought against Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings (The Yearling) by her neighbor, Zelma Cason. Cason contended that Rawlings’ description of ‘her’ character in Rawlings’ book Cross Creek made her out to be a ‘hussy’ and sued the author for invasion of privacy (the courts of the time found libel to be too ambiguous). It was a cause of action that had never been argued in a Florida court. “That was a time when a woman lawyer was a novelty in the South, and man’s moonshine was nobody’s business, and an invasion-of-privacy lawsuit was something of a brand-new issue, which eventually became a popular reason for going to court.” Jack Lyons, Theatre & Film

After the audition they share a cab, and Vito, the nice guy that he is, helps Theda carry her Christmas packages to her door. She invite’s Vito in, hoping he will read her latest ‘masterpiece’ and help connect her to a producer. Vito happily accepts the invitation, but he has other things on his mind. What happens there, on that fateful snowy Christmas Eve in Theda’s East Village apartment is the basis of this laugh-out-loud madcap comedy.

The name Pocahontas, belonging to the daughter of the powerful Algonquin Chief Powhatan, means “She-Who-Likes-To-Be-Mischievous.” It’s a fitting name, because the princess enjoys playing tricks and games, especially with Wolf, Raven and Squirrel… her playmates in the forest. She also makes friends with the English settlers in the struggling community of Jamestown. They have no food, and sickness has almost wiped them out. Pocahontas would like to help them, but Thundercloud, the medicine man, forbids it. When Captain John Smith, the leader of Jamestown, comes to the Indian village, he is condemned to death. Spanish River Concerts celebrates its fourteenth season this January through March, by yet again offering innovative virtuoso musical performances in conveniently located venues in West Boca Raton and Delray Beach. Zoltán Mága – Live in Concert
Enjoy the passion and romance as PBS star Zoltán Mága – Hungary’s foremost violin virtuoso – performs your favorite Pops, Broadway, Italian, Gypsy, and classical masterpieces.
